Members and their
dogs are invited to come along to the AMCV's annual
Snow Weekend at Dinner Plain, usually held on the first weekend in
August.
The AMCV does not arrange accommodation - those who wish to come along can organise their own accommodation at Dinner Plain by phoning "Accommodation at Dinner
Plain" (03) 5159 6556 or "Accommodation Services of Dinner Plain" on (03) 5159 6696 or 1800 444 066.
Accommodation is also available at Omeo (approx. half hour drive from Dinner Plain) or Harrietville (approx. 1 hour drive from Dinner Plain via Mt Hotham). The Omeo Caravan Park welcomes our Malamutes (on lead) and has a number of cabins and on-site vans as well as numerous powered sites - phone (03) 5159 1351.
Please note:
SNOW
CHAINS must be carried. |
The club
will hold a fundraising lunch and will provide sleds, harnesses and equipment for members

We are very fortunate that we are
able to take our dogs to Dinner Plain and we want to keep it that
way. We must ask all who attend the snow weekend to adhere
strictly to the following rules:
-
At night dogs must be
accommodated in vehicles or trailers in the overnight
carpark to minimise disturbance to others.
-
Dogs must be on hand-held
lead or in vehicles/trailers at all times. It is no
longer permissable to stake dogs out in the Dinner Plain
Resort area.
-
Do not block trails or roads
with your dogs or equipment and always give way to
skiers.
-
On no account must any dog be
allowed inside a lodge.
-
Dogs must not be taken into
the National Park area.
These
rules are to be strictly adhered to by all members and their guests who are at
Dinner Plain for our Snow Weekend.
Please
note that the AMCV Dog Permit for Dinner Plain will only extend over the weekend
advertised for the event. Those wishing to extend their stay must obtain their own Dog Permit -
contact the Alpine Shire on (03) 5755 0555 for details. |
